Photography Level 1 Award

In this course you will learn how to use a digital DSLR camera and take photographs on Manual mode.  You will create a portfolio of your photos from the original image through to the final edited product.

In this course you will have the opportunity to go off site and take photos in a variety of settings using a variety of lenses and filters.

You will also have the chance to use Photoshop to edit your images.

NCFE Level 1 Award in Photography (601/3390/9)

Overview

This QCF qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to develop a basic understanding of photographic processes and basic photography skills.

Learners will understand how to use a camera correctly and safely to take photographs; they’ll also be able to review the quality of their final images. Learners will also be aware of legal and ethical considerations relating to photography.

The objective of this qualification is to support the learner’s progression into further learning in photography or other creative subject areas.

This qualification consists of the following mandatory units:

  • Use a camera to capture creative images (J/505/9151)
  • Digital image manipulation (L/505/9152)

This qualification is designed for anyone who wishes to gain a basic understanding of photography. 
 
This is an engaging qualification and suitable for learners with an interest in photography who are looking to return to learning or considering a change in career. 
 
These may be learners who wish to access this qualification with a view to progress to further qualifications and eventually into employment or self-employment, or to complement other qualifications within apprenticeship frameworks in the creative sector.
