Finance

Students are taught Finance as part of the Academy’s Life Skills programme, that links to Careers. Through the four modules studied, students develop the fundamental skills that they will need to successfully organise their personal finances in future years.  

In Unit 1 students learn to recognise their money personality and habits, identify their financial needs versus their financial wants and financially plan for large expenditure.  

In Unit 2 students learn about financial aspirations, budgeting, achieving value for money and top tips for saving money.  

In Unit 3 students learn about credit and saving, opening a bank account, reading a bank statement and successful saving habits.  

In Unit 4 students learn about managing money and fraud and identity theft.  

For each unit completed students receive a certificate of recognition.
