Course Overview
This course aims to give students an understanding of the travel and tourism industry. You will explore a wide range of topics, including: Trends and Development in the Leisure industry, the importance of leisure to the local and national economy, the impact of tourism, the function of customs and immigration services at an airport, Regulations, Hotel Reservations and much more.
It will broaden your understanding of different cultures and promote responsible travel practices. Even if you do not end up working in the travel and tourism industry, this course will provide you with a new perspective and awareness of how the industry works. You will also learn valuable transferable skills through this course, which you will be able to take with you to Post 16 and future employment.
Coursework
This course is entirely coursework based, where students will need produce a portfolio of evidence, created from completing assessment tasks linked to the provided learning outcomes for this course. To achieve a higher qualification, students will need to achieve as many credits as possible.
